Summer Dance Camps

Please note that all summer camps are subject to change or cancellation based on enrollment.

Summer provides the opportunity to try something new or focus a student’s attention in a more specific way.  This summer, we are proud to offer a wide variety of week long summer camps for students ranging in age from 3-18 (students must be 3 at the time of the camp).  We have something for students of all ages and abilities.  Our summer programs are open to both current HRPAC students , as well as students from other studios looking to enrich their learning over the summer. Pre-registration is required for all camps.  Please register early to guarantee your spot.  Current HRPAC students will receive an individualized recommendation form.

Lyrical, Jazz, and Hip Hop Week

Spend the week focusing on lyrical, jazz, and hip hop week.  This new camp provides a great opportunity to brush up or improve your skills, or try something new!  Open to dancers ages 6 and above, the week concludes with a demonstration for family and friends on Friday.  Register early!  We expect this camp to fill quickly!

Introduction to Broadway Tap and Jazz Week

Is your child in love with all things Broadway? New this summer, for dancers ages 7 and up with previous dance experience, this camp will provide a great introduction to Musical Theatre Dance, Broadway shows, and Rockette-style choreography.  Tap shoes are recommended but not required. The week will conclude on Friday with a demonstration for family in friends.

Ballet Intensives

Our ballet intensives are strongly recommended to all of our students, as ballet provides the fundamentals for our other dance programs. Students who participate in our ballet programs progress at a faster rate than those who do not.  Intensive week can be challenging, but the hard work pays off and students have a wonderful time working hard and making new friends.

We are pleased to offer FOUR Ballet Intensives this year, to accomodate our growing ballet program–Petite, Junior, Intermediate, and Advanced. Intensive level placement is done by the Director.  Current HRPAC students will receive a recommendation form. Please see Lisa with your questions.

Repertory Company & Choreography Clinic

Junior and Senior Repertory Weeks:  By audition only, Repertory Company dancers learn choreography in a variety of styles to perform during the upcoming season.  Dancers become ambassadors for HRPAC in the community.  Performance opportunities include community outreach events, town festivals, dance competitions, and other local events.  Company members are required to fulfill dance company pre-requisites including technique classes, rehearsals, and summer intensives.  Auditions for the programs will be held in May or June.

Choreography Clinic:  Open to members of Repertory Company only, our Choreography Clinic provides serious students with the opportunity to become choreographers and practice the art of creating their own dance pieces. Participants will practice music analysis, and learn basic principles of choreography including use of space, shape, scale, timing, and dynamics to apply to their own choreographic works.  Guided by an experienced and award-winning choreographer, dancers will create their own solo, duet, or small group pieces, the best of which will be chosen to become part of HRPAC’s Repertory Company to be performed around the Hudson Valley during the upcoming season.  The Clinic will conclude with a works-in-progress demonstration for family and friends on Friday.

Tutu and Tumble Hawaiian Week

Join our Luau party for 3-5 year olds! Designed for our youngest dancers, both male and female, this week will introduce and reinforce dance basics all within a fun Hawaiian theme!  Ballet and tumbling basics are introduced in an age appropriate manner, and dancers learn about participating in a classroom environment away from a caregiver.  Register early, as we expect this camp to fill!
