Summer Dance Classes

Hudson River Performing Arts Center is offering in person camps and classes for various dance levels.   A $100.00 non-refundable deposit per each camp is required at the time of registration.  Final payment is due no later than the 1st day of camp.  Please email the studio for proper placement and registration.  Registration can also be completed online.

Summer provides the opportunity to try something new or focus a student’s attention in a more specific way.  Our summer programs are open to both current HRPAC students , as well as students from other studios looking to enrich their learning over the summer.  Pre-registration is required for all classes.  Registration for summer will open March 1.  We are requiring a $100.00 non-refundable deposit per each camp at the time of registration.  Final payment is due no later than the 1st day of camp.  All summer camps are cash/check only.  We will NOT be using PayPal/Venmo for the summer.  Please register early to guarantee your spot.  Current HRPAC students will receive an individualized recommendation form.

Company Summer Requirements

ALL company classes are a year long commitment.  Ballet Company members are required to take specific summer intensives over the summer. Ballet Company members are required to take a Ballet Intensive, as well as the Ballet Repertory Company week.  The Dance Company members are required to take the Dance Repertory Company week.  If their is a conflict with the requirements, please contact the office.

Summer Camp Descriptions

Open level tap – once a week tap class for students in tap level A and above
Adult swing dance class – can be taken individually or with a partner
Bigs & Littles is a 6 week music and movement class for babies and toddlers up to 3 years old.  This class is best suited for children who are walking independently and is 1:1 with caregiver participation being required.  There will be gross motor movement, stretching, dancing with and without props, rhythm instruments, etc.
Tutu and Tumble/Tapping Toes (Pre-dance) is a 6 week class that is geared to our 3 – 5 year old students.  The class introduces basic ballet and tap dance techniques, as well as basic tumbling skills, while incorporating both fine and gross motor movements.  Dancers learn about spacial awareness, taking turns, and being independent from their caregiver.
Junior Dance Intensive is a week-long camp for ages 5 and above. It will cover multiple genres dance,  including ballet, jazz, contemporary, lyrical, as well as stretching, turns, and jumps.
Ballet Intensive 1 is a week long intensive for dancers in Ballet level C/D and above, as well as new students with ballet experience.  All students put on pointe this past January are required to take this intensive to continue pointe work come September.
Ballet Intensive 2 is a week long intensive for  intermediate/advanced students with pointe experience.  Dancers who started pointe in January 2022 are also encouraged take this as a 2nd intensive in their flat shoes.
Musical Theatre Camp is for all students in combo and above and will include different forms of Broadway-style theatre jazz.  During this week long intensive, students will get a more in-depth look at Broadway by learning choreography and lines that they might see on the Broadway stage.

Ballet Repertory Company is a week long intensive that requires an audition.  This intensive is for our more serious students in level C and above.  Ballet Repertory Company is a  year long commitment that begins in July with summer requirements and run through the following June.  In order to fulfill your commitment, you are required to take the summer company intensive along with a Director approved summer ballet intensive.  Through the school year each dancer is required to take 2 ballet classes, a jazz class, and their ballet repertory company rehearsal.  In addition to the 2 ballet classes, some dancers might be given additional ballet classes and pointe classes depending on their level.

Dance Repertory Company This intensive has a director approval requirement and carries a full year long commitment.  In order to be in Dance Repertory Company, you must also take the appropriate jazz class during our normal dance season.
